In 1903, W.G.George ran one mile in a world record time of 4 minutes, 12 seconds. His coach said "the probability is that this record will never be broken." In 1954, both Roger Bannister and John Landy broke the "four minute mile" and to this day, these records continue to be broken. This program follows the performance of today's record-breakers in distance running in order to understand the fundamental question: is there a limit to human athletic performance? Interviews with Dick Telford, Craig Mottram, Kerryn McCann and Nick Harrison cover the following topics: Training and diet, Coaching, Psychology, Money, Drugs, Male / female differences and health risks.
