Practical work in the school science lab can be great fun - but like most work environments, there can also be many dangers for students who don't know the basic safety rules. In this program we join a typical group of Grade 7 students to learn all about working safely in the school science laboratory, covering essential topics such as science room behavior, handling chemicals, coping with chemical splashes, handling glassware, dealing with broken glassware, lighting Bunsen burners, dealing with burns, scalds and cuts, using electrical equipment and what to do in an emergency.
