By Design - Disc 1

Divided into chapters By Design - Disc 1, takes the viewer through an introduction to design by following a grade six class building a chair for Homer Simpson. Interior and Housing Design features the methods designers and architects use to adapt requests provided by clients into the redesigns for buildings, kitchens, etc. Furniture and Manufacturing Design follows students at the Kootenay School of the Arts learning basics of furniture building, features successful furniture designer Neils Bendsten and Peter Andringa the scupltor of The Orbit. Lastly, Engineering and Industrial Design introduces ACR Systems which produces data loggers which measure changes in temperature.
